Barcelona chief Josep Maria Bartomeu makes huge Neymar return revelation
BARCELONA chief Josep Maria Bartomeu is open to bringing Neymar back to the club.
But the club president admits he doesn’t think PSG will sell him.
Neymar stunned the football world by moving to PSG for £200m last summer, leaving the La Liga giants in the lurch.
PSG paid his astronomical release clause to bring him to Paris, but despite success on the pitch the move has not worked out in full.
Neymar is said to be keen to leave already and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, while Manchester United are also in the running.
Neymar was in stunning form before his season-ending injury
There were also reports of a return to Barcelona, and Bartomeu refused to rule it out.
“Of course yes,” he said when asked if he would consider bringing him back.
“We enjoyed him for four seasons [here] and he is a very good player. I do not think that PSG want to sell him.”
But on the potential of a move to Real Madrid Bartomeu insists he would not be hurt by it.
“It would not hurt me, I like that the good players are in La Liga,” he added.
“He decides but he has a contract with PSG for the next four years.
“Our first priority is Barcelona and then that La Liga is competitive. Our first rival is the Premier League.”
Neymar, 26, was in stunning form on the pitch before his season-ending injury.
He scored 19 Ligue 1 goals in 20 games and another six in seven in the Champions League.
But things have turned sour and he didn’t even return to Paris for the title celebrations, instead staying in Brazil to recover from his injury.
